Through The Door
A downloadable game for macOS and Linux
Created for a game jam! 48 hours, solo, no brakes.
I wanted to make a roguelike shooter with (very overpowered) weapon upgrades. Clear each stage to unlock the doors, then kick one open to get its upgrades and proceed to the next stage.
Shoot: LMB / Right Trigger
Jump: Space / South face button
Dash: Shift / East face button
Kick door: E / West face button
I might add a little more to this, since I've done a bunch of the legwork for stuff like grenades, splitting projectiles, and so forth.
But I'm pretty happy with it as is, even if you can't die (:
The WebGL build is kinda broken, so you’ll probably want to download this.

Literally broke the game via split barrel, shotgun and firing like 26 shells at a time. Fire lagged it, holding the mouse button down nearly crashed the game, and even the light use the clear enemies broke the game as no doors spawned. XD
Really love what you have so far- the door transportation animation is really cool!
I get the following error when trying to run this.
Unable to parse Build/Threshold Game Jam.framework.js.gz! This can happen if build compression was enabled but web server hosting the content was misconfigured to not serve the file with HTTP Response Header "Content-Encoding: gzip" present. Check browser Console and Devtools Network tab to debug.
Hmm, it should be able to run, at least! It’s behaving fine in Chrome for me (including in an Incognito tab; maybe try that?)
I try to stick to using the Itch.io client, but I'll try it in the browser later
I’ve disabled the browser version for now, since it’s having some weird graphical problems.
the doors are... loud but this is a good start just fix the problem where you can get the same upgrade on the four doors and the treshold is you game crashing from projectiles
the shot gun projectiles can jsut slide so i create a fire shockwave shooting down
the enemies shooting arc need improvement
