Better vore, AI adjustments, debug visuals
This update adds significantly nicer looking vore. Notably, there are new struggle shapes, plus some physics to let the gut slosh around a bit. I’ve also improved the ragdolls somewhat; I now control the position of the hips, hands, and feet, rather than just the hips.
I’ve also been working on debug visualizations, like these to show what the monster is thinking about. They’ve already helped to find and fix a few AI bugs, so they’ve definitely been worth it. You can enable them in the debug menu.
If you’re curious: the spacing in the dashes represents the thought strength. The shapes are red if they haven’t become active yet, and green if they have. The small solid shape is the randomly-chosen position that Fen will actually investigate; more accurate sensations have less dispersion.
I’ve been messing around with the specifics of the AI. Fen should investigate noises a little more eagerly now. Still needs a fair bit of work – I need to give it memories, so that making several faint sounds can provoke an investigation.
Fen’s awareness now rises and falls gradually. Previously, it would just snap to a level based on its strongest thought. So, breaking line-of-sight won’t immediately reduce Fen’s awareness! This means that its senses will stay sharper for longer.
I also fixed some major problems with how I was calculating the light level perceived by Fen. Additionally, I tweaked how exposure gets used. If you turn on monster debug and watch the Exposure number, you should see it going up when Fen is looking right at a light source. This will make it harder for it to see you in the dark!
Finally, you now have a visible body. I’ve also attached the camera to your actual head. This means there’s a ton of camera shake! Remember that you can disable camera shake in the options – although, at the moment, this will cause the camera to clip through your head. I’m figuring out a nicer way to handle this, so it should be fixed up soon.
Misc stuff:
- You can now set the time of day for the House scene.
- Prey now have some actual animations. Note that leaning lacks an animation right now.
