Doors and passages can now be boarded up, requiring you to (noisily) rip the boards off the wall, one at a time. Fen, naturally, can just walk through them to destroy them.
As with the other new game elements, you’ll only find this stuff in the Basement for the moment.
You’ll now hear a heartbeat sound when Fen is threatening you. Also, getting noticed will naturally raise your heartrate, even if you aren’t tiring yourself out.
I want to add some more “horror” sounds, like a musical sting when Fen sees you. Gonna have to do some experimentation there.
Misc stuff:
- Circuit breakers have sound effects now
- You can only struggle if you have energy, and you can’t breathe while eaten. Running out of oxygen doubles the damage you take
- You can hold your breath by holding R. This prevents Fen from hearing your breathing. It’s not really balanced right now, though; the loudest breathing is comparable to the loudness of sneak-walking
- The HUD can be scaled up and down. You can also choose to hide it entirely.
- I made spatial audio a bit less reverb-y
- Fen no longer tries to look at random places during idle animations, which should make them look more natural
