No experimental build this week: working on new AI systems


I’m elbow-deep in a new AI system, so I don’t have an experimental build to post this week.

In short, I’m implementing goal-oriented action planning. It lets AI agents figure out a sequence of actions that will satisfy a goal.

Goals include things like “be full” or “eat that specific entity”, and can turn into a whole sequence like:

  • move to the target
  • grab the target
  • eat the target

I’ve gotten a lot of this thing implemented (and it’s working!). I’m now working on including various factors into the decision-making, like how hungry Fen is, or how friendly it’s feeling towards you. It’s very promising (:

I’m up too late so I’m keeping this short. I’ll have a lot more details with the next build sometime next week!
