Weight gain, more customization, and some fixes
Predatory Pursuit » Devlog
I also don’t have a cold anymore! That sucked.
Anyway, a new public build is available.
Check last week’s dev log for more details on stuff I worked on two weeks ago.
Weight gain and character customization
Fen gets a little…heavier after eating enough prey now. The weight gain should be a little less wild than in the legacy version – Fen has to eat eight times her weight in prey to appear to double in mass, rather than blowing up like a balloon after eating five people.
You can turn weight gain off in the content settings if you’d like.
You can also switch Fen’s body shape between “feminine” and “androgynous” forms using the Director. Check the “Morpher” section!
Tweaks and fixes
- The UI got some more work done. Everything is a little smaller and more consistent now. You can adjust the UI scale if you want, thought!
- …I need to figure out how to make dragging the UI scale slider with your mouse work right. As-is, the menu changes sizes immediately!
- Strafing should feel better now. I created some new animations for it.
- I’m still torn on how I want to move characters around. In the legacy version, it’s completely code-driven. Now, it’s controlled by the animations themselves – however the character moves in the animation is how they move in the game. This makes for very accurate movement, but it’s also a bit…icky feeling.
- Clicking on the Director menu will no longer cause you select whatever under your cursor.
- You can now make yourself invisible or intangible in the Mutators settings.
- …but I just remembered that Fen grabs anything within 3 meters, even if that thing hasn’t been touched. I should fix that!
- The Basement scene has gotten fleshed out a little more.
- Fen should now stay still while digesting prey (unless there’s something tasty in sight).
And, if you happen to be playing this on a Steam Deck, gyro input should work now (:
Known issues
- The hint settings don’t do anything right now
- The prey-vocals settings don’t do anything right now
- Fen sometimes looks behind herself at really sharp angles
- Being intangible doesn’t stop a grab from triggering
What’s Next?
- I want to capture some new animations for things like digesting prey and belching up bones
- I’m going to figure out an interface for setting up the game mode and scene. Think of UT2K4’s Instant Action menu (:
- Prey vocals are coming back very soon
- Objectives, like switches and barricades, will be returning a little later.

I gotta say that you've done an amazing job with the sound design for the stomach and digestion noises. It's really great. As for the game, is there no way to move the camera after Fen digests you right now? And also no way to respawn in the Pursuit mode either?
Do you plan to add different vore types?
Yayyy!! I’m so excited for prey vocals to come back! God, the fucking screams and muffled begging are the BEST!! Especially that “no, no please no—*shrieking*” one. Loving this update and looking forward to all the rest!
I can't figure out the controls for director mode...
how do I posses an entity?
can anyone help me with this?
I think you have to maintain the tab key or whatever button is used for director mode, not just tap it. And then in director mode I think tapping it does something different but I'm not sure, I haven't played in a while
