Better weight gain, hunting, grabbing, and hiding
I’m pretty happy with the current state of the game, so here’s a new preview build for everyone!
Hiding Places
The basement scene (now the main one I’m working on) has a spot under a table that counts as hiding place. Fen has trouble seeing you from a distance when you’re in it, but it’ll still be able to get you if it gets real close. Read more here.
Weight Gain
I’ve redone weight gain and growth. Fen will gain weight after digesting someone, then turn that weight into height. Read more here.
Hunting
Fen looks around more organically now. It will search in random directions when it hears a noise, rather than just staring at the source. It’ll also do this when wandering. Read more here.
Grabbing
When going in for a grab, Fen will now reach at you. This makes it a fair bit harder to avoid it! Read more here.
Misc. highlights
- Camera shake is a LOT less violent now.
- Fen should be less prone to wandering off right after eating something
- You go into a third-person view when grabbed.
- There’s a timescale slider in the debug menu. I forgot to label it tho. It also slows the menus down! Use it at your own risk for now (:
- The “Found Footage” style is no longer the default (but you should still check it out)
- Fen’s gulps shake the screen.
- Throwing is fixed. Fen only throws you on the “Peckish” behavior setting. “Famished” makes it eat you faster.
